What happens if I need to return an item?
Return policies vary by merchant. If the merchant issues a credit to your card, it may take up to seven business days for the credit to be reflected on your card balance. [back to top]

How are tips and gratuities handled?
When making a purchase at a restaurant, hotel, cruise line, salon, or spa, the merchant may temporarily add an additional 15%-20% to the purchase amount to cover tips or incidentals. Make sure your balance is sufficient to accommodate the additional 15%-20%, or your transaction will be declined. [back to top]

What if the purchase is declined?
If the balance on your card is insufficient to complete a transaction, the transaction may be denied. In these instances, you may want to ask the merchant if you can perform a Split Tender Transaction. In other words, use what’s left on your Gift Card and pay the balance in cash, with a check or by some other method, subject to the policy of the merchant. Also, please be aware that use of the card at restaurants, hotels, cruise lines, spas, salons, taxis, card rental, and mail order merchants may require an available balance greater than the purchase amount to ensure sufficient funds to cover gratuities, incidental charges, shipping, or other charges that may be assessed by the merchant.
